200/20 Progressive Blindness

I got my first pair of glasses when I was 12. By the time I was 16, the doctors told me if my eyes kept progressing at the rate that they were, I’d be legally blind by the time I was 30. 200/20 Progressive Blindness was inspired by this potential reality even though my vision has, thankfully, plateaued. This series of images was taken while walking from Midtown East to Chinatown and back to Midtown West. Welcome to the city of the blind.

Not being able to see clearly is like being underwater. Large blocks of color; blurry and beautiful.
